Cape's Trail

1. Prainha's Top (Little Beach Top)
Easy and well defined trail with a 2,5 Km extent an average time of two hours (single and return). It takes to Prainha's Top (Little Beach Top), that's an outstanding fishing point, where is able to see all the Cabo Frio's (Cape Encampment) Bay, the Pig's Island and the Jararaca's Top

2. Jararaca's Top
Medium difficult trail, 6 Km extent, an average time of four hours and a half (single and return). Pass on the top of Cabocla's Hill, offering pretty points of view and finished in a big rocky slope, facing Pig's Island outstanding fishing point. Crossing tracks of Atlantic Woodlands, allowing observation of your typical fauna

3. Atalaia's Headland - Telegraph
Hardly difficult trail, with more or less 3,5 Km extent and average time of 3 hours (single and return). Passing by Atalaia's Headland external side, with a sight from French Island and Islet, gets to Praia Brava (Angry Beach) and takes to the top of Atalaia's hillock, where Telegraphically Station ruins were built in 1864. On July and August Whales can be observed all along the trail.

4. Atalaia's Headland - Wide Opening
This is a trail without difficulties, with 10 Km extent; it takes until the extreme Atalaia's Headland, trough pavement road also accessible by cars. The walk has an average length of four hours, put forward amazing views upon the city of Cape Encampment, Angels Beach, the little beaches, and the lighthouse beach, in the Cape Encampment Island. Pitas cactus and bromeliads that's typical vegetation from Cape Encampment hills, pictures a prettiest sightseeing. At the trail beginning, an excellent point to appreciate the sunset

5. Old Lighthouse
Hardly difficult trail, steep ascent of 1500 meters, and average time of 3 hours (single and return). Boats departures thru Cape Cold Island. When going up the hill in the middle of closed bush, amazing sights through the old lighthouse built in 1833 in top of the Island. Lighthouse Keepers home ruins: rests of great stone walls and whitewash mortar, shell and whale's oil. Navy allowance it's necessary.

6. New Lighthouse
Medium difficult trail with 3 km. extent and average time of 3 hours. It takes thru the lighthouse built in 1861 and reformed in 1925, in fully operation up to now. Guided by a functionary, who genteelly follows the visitors, it's able to go on lighthouse's top, where descries an amazing sight on opened sea and Snout Cape. Navy allowance it's necessary.

7. Massambaba Sandbank
Medium difficult trail, with 8km extent (from the beginning until Camboinhas' Bridge). A region of an ecological 'n' archeological big importance and natural beauties. The walks, with an average time of 3 hours, starts in Massambaba archeological siege: a bank constituted of a great dune. To the long one of the "canals of tide" one skirtes sandy dunes and laces observing richest sandbanks vegetation

8. Swamp
Non-difficult walk, with an average time of 2 hours and 11km extent. Go all the way through RJ102 Road by car, coming into by foot in the marked points to visit the swamps. Particularly interesting ecological reserve for loving of unusual landscapes and the observers of birds. The swamps are habitat of wild ducks and important landing of migratory birds.

9. Massabamba's Top
Non-difficult walk, with 5km extent from Monte Alto (High Mount) and avarage time of 3 hours. The sandy and plan way goes through salt mines, allowing observe what remains of salt industries in Arraial do Cabos' (Cape Encampment) region, Mills of Wind, old cabins and great extentions of sparkling salt mines to the sun compose an unusual landscape.
